Choices 1


Where you are at right now is the sum of all of the choices you have made in your life! Don’t worry it is the same for each and every person on the face of the earth. But what is even more important is that you have a choice; you can change it!  This is dependent on the choices you are going to make in the future.

I want to look at this in terms of health and wellness – I believe the same principles apply to all aspects of life.

Basically there are 3 possible choices:

Optimal – are optimal because they provide the best possible outcome. Going to the gym, sticking to you nutrition plan, eating organic foods, drinking plenty of water and getting to bed on time are optimal choices for the person that wants to be healthy.

Suboptimal choices are the choices that go against what you are setting out to achieve. Not exercising regularly, overeating or eating foods you know are bad for you, drinking too much caffeine or alcohol, smoking, not getting enough sleep are some examples. However you can learn from them, grow and develop from them.

Lastly we have Indifference which is the equivalent of doing nothing. Indifference is basically giving up; it means that you just continue along the same path.

Suboptimal and indifferent choices are not going to bring you happiness, they will in fact cause you pain. Learn from your mistakes and move forward – take responsibility for yourself!
